About Me

Lauren

Everyone calls me Lola—a nickname that started back in high school Spanish class to distinguish me from the other Laurens... and somehow it just stuck (especially into college, when I ended up with a roommate named Lauren too!). Funny enough my husband's sister AND my brother's wife are both Laurens as well. So Lola has become a part of my identity.

Baking is my sanctuary, a place where I feel most myself and recharged by the rhythm of measuring, kneading, and tasting.

I discovered sourdough while exploring ways to support my gut health. I suffer from autoimmune conditions and find comfort in knowing exactly what's in my food. I also feel it's my calling as a mother to teach my son how to support his body with food. I grew up learning to cook alongside my mother and grandmother, soaking in their wisdom and joy in the kitchen, and I've carried that love forward in every loaf, cookie, and cake I create, now with some healthier swaps. I absolutely adore any reason to celebrate, and nothing makes me happier than watching sweet treats bring people together, spark smiles, and create shared memories. This can be achieved organically. ;)
